This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and handle your information when you use our Android mobile application (“the App”).

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

A. Account Information

To use certain features of the App, you may create an account using your email address and a password, or via third-party authentication services like Google Sign-In. When you register, we collect:

  • Your name (if provided via Google Sign-In)
  • Your email address
  • Authentication credentials (passwords are securely hashed; we do not store plaintext passwords)

B. Information Stored Locally

Any personal progress data, such as your mock interview history, day streaks, tracked jobs, and interview scores, is stored locally on your device using Android SharedPreferences. We do not have access to this data, and it is not transmitted to any external databases owned by us.

C. User-Provided Content

To provide our core AI coaching features (e.g., LinkedIn profile analysis, mock interviews, salary negotiations), you may submit data such as:

  • LinkedIn URLs or Profile Data
  • Job Descriptions
  • Mock interview answers and chat inputs

This information is processed in real-time to generate personalized AI responses.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information you provide solely to operate and improve the App’s features, including:

  • Generating AI-driven feedback for interview preparation.
  • Analyzing job descriptions to highlight skill gaps.
  • Simulating salary negotiation scenarios.
  • Providing tailored LinkedIn optimization strategies.

3. Third-Party Services (Google Gemini API)

The App utilizes Google’s Gemini API to process natural language and generate coaching feedback.

  • When you submit text inputs (such as interview answers or job descriptions), this data is transmitted securely to the Gemini API for processing.
  • We do not use this data for training our own models.
  • Please refer to Google’s Privacy Policy and Google’s Generative AI Terms of Service for more information on how Google handles data sent to its APIs.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

The App offers premium features (“Pro” subscriptions). All billing and subscription management is handled securely through the Google Play Store billing system. We do not collect, process, or store your credit card information or financial details. Please review Google Play’s privacy practices for more information.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Account Data

If you create an account, we retain your account information (such as name and email) for as long as your account is active. You may request to delete your account and associated personal data at any time by contacting us at erx.adi@gmail.com, or by using the account deletion feature within the App (if available).

Local Data

Because your progress and usage data (such as streaks and mock session results) are stored locally on your device, you have full control over it. You can delete this data at any time by:

  • Clearing the App’s data/cache in your Android device settings.
  • Uninstalling the App from your device.

6. Children’s Privacy

Our App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we will be able to take necessary actions.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Effective Date” at the top. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.

Abhaya is a personal safety application designed for women in India. We operate on a strict “zero-backend” architecture, meaning your most sensitive operational data—specifically real-time location and audio—stays strictly on your device and is never stored on our servers.

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the application.

2. Data We DO NOT Collect

To protect your absolute privacy, Abhaya enforces a strict data minimization policy:

  • Audio & Voice: All AI distress detection is processed entirely locally on your smartphone via on-device models. We do NOT record, store, stream, or transmit your voice or background audio.
  • Real-time Location History: We do not track, log, or save your location history on our external servers.
  • Personal Identity: We do not require account registration, names, phone numbers, or email addresses to utilize the basic functions of the app.
  • Sale of Data: We do not sell, trade, or rent your data to any third party.

3. Data We Collect (Limited Scope)

We only transmit data to our backend infrastructure when it is technically necessary to execute user-initiated actions or maintain app stability:

  • Safety Map Pins: Anonymized geolocations, hazard tags, and time details that you voluntarily submit to populate the crowd-sourced public safety map.
  • Crash Reports & Analytics: Anonymized diagnostic information collected via Firebase to help us resolve crashes, patch bugs, and optimize battery drain performance.
  • FCM Device Tokens: Unique cloud messaging tokens utilized solely to deliver incoming SafeNeighbour community alerts and network notifications to your smartphone.

4. Device Permissions and Usage

To provide active safety monitoring, the app requires access to specific system components, used explicitly as detailed below:

  • Microphone: Used exclusively for active, on-device AI distress keyword and trigger pattern detection.
  • Location: Required to display the interactive safety map and to package your precise coordinates into outbound emergency messages.
  • SMS & Phone Status: Triggered during an active SOS state to automatically send emergency alerts to your designated contacts and initiate automated voice calls to your primary contact.
  • Camera & Storage: Required to capture and save encrypted media locally inside the app’s secure sandbox on your device.
  • Contacts: Used locally to let you browse and pick emergency contacts seamlessly from your address book. This data is never uploaded.

5. Third-Party Data Processors

We partner with a limited number of service providers to handle specialized core app mechanics:

  • Google Firebase: Used to handle cloud push notifications (FCM) and aggregate crash diagnostics.
  • Supabase: Used as our secure, encrypted cloud database for storing anonymous public safety map pins.
  • OpenStreetMap: Used to fetch and display interactive, open-source maps within the app interface.

6. Data Retention

  • Encrypted Evidence: Stored exclusively on your hardware storage partition. Media is removed permanently if you delete the clip inside the app or uninstall the application.
  • Map Pins: Automatically and permanently deleted from our Supabase database servers after 90 days.
  • Analytics Data: Retained inside Google Firebase for a standard period of 14 months before automated deletion.

7. Regulatory Compliance (DPDP Act 2023)

In accordance with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023, you maintain full rights to access, correct, or request the complete erasure of any personal data processed by us. Because we use a decentralized architecture that avoids personal identifiers, you can instantly exercise your right to be forgotten simply by clearing the app cache or completely uninstalling Abhaya from your mobile device.

8. Important Disclaimer

Abhaya is a supplemental safety assistance application and is NOT a standalone replacement for official emergency services. In any active, life-threatening situation, always contact government emergency responses directly by dialing 112, 100, or 181.

MindEase (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application, MindEase (the “App”).

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the application.

1. Information We Collect

To provide a fully AI-managed, personalized wellness experience, we process certain types of data. We prioritize data minimization and user confidentiality.

A. Personal Data You Provide Voluntarily

  • Account Information: If you choose to use the “Sign in with Google” feature, we receive your basic profile information (such as your name, email address, and profile picture).
  • User Input Data: We collect text logs, chat histories, journal entries, and mood check-ins that you explicitly type or submit within the App. This data is required for the AI core engine to perform cognitive restructuring, pattern tracking, and deep journal analysis.
  • Emergency Contacts: If you opt to configure the “My Safety Net” or Emergency Contacts feature, we store the names and phone numbers of the trusted contacts you manually input.

B. Automatically Collected Sensitive Data

  • Approximate Location Data: The App accesses your network-based location or device locale settings to determine your country code (e.g., India). This is strictly utilized to automatically tailor local crisis helpline numbers and filter mood-based YouTube music playlists in your regional language. We do not track precise real-time GPS locations.
  • Device and Usage Technical Data: We collect diagnostic log information, device type, operating system version, system performance metrics, and App interaction data to ensure technical stability.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following specific purposes:

  • AI Processing & Feature Delivery: To generate empathetic chat responses, perform deep text sentiment analysis, estimate anxiety scores (CBT/GAD-7 styles), and generate smart journaling prompts.
  • Proactive Triage & Safety: To continuously screen user text inputs for acute crisis indicators or self-harm keywords, enabling the App to instantly overlay life-saving helpline links if necessary.
  • Localization: To deliver language-appropriate audio/video resources based on your country of usage.
  • Subscription Management: To verify your MindEase Pro subscription status and premium tool access.

3. Data Processing, Storage, and Third-Party API Sharing

MindEase is a fully AI-managed application. To process your journal entries, chats, and emotional metrics, your inputs are sent securely via encrypted API protocols to large language model backends (such as Google AI Studio/Gemini API).

  • Strict Non-Commercial Use: Your text logs, conversations, and personal mental health profiles are never sold, rented, or commercialized to third-party brokers or advertisers.
  • AI Training Safeguards: Data transmitted to our enterprise AI pipeline structures is handled via privacy-first endpoints designed to prevent your private clinical reflections from being used for public model training.
  • Encryption: All data transmitted between the App and our backend services is encrypted in transit using Transport Layer Security (TLS) and at rest.

4. Data Retention and Deletion Rights

We retain your data only as long as necessary to maintain your personal wellness history and streaks within the App.

  • Account Deletion: You retain absolute control over your data. You can delete your historical logs, journal entries, or your entire account profile directly through the App settings menu at any time.
  • Manual Deletion Request: Alternatively, you may request complete account data erasure by contacting us at our official support email listed below. Upon request, all data linked to your identity will be permanently deleted from our databases within standard regulatory timelines.

5. Children’s Privacy

MindEase does not knowingly collect or solicit personal data from anyone under the age of 13 (or under the age of 16 in certain jurisdictions adhering to GDPR/regional laws). If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child under the required age without verifiable parental consent, we will delete that information from our databases with extreme urgency.

6. Updates to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to align with changing app architecture or global compliance rules. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
